Acting on behalf of the Contracting Authority (DCC) on bringing to a conclusion a number of legacy legal matters relating to the former Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA). The Docklands require these services as this company are presently engaged in a Number of legal issues in relation to taking in charge, resolving the issue in relation to a health and safety matter within a Private Tenanted Building. This contract is being awarded to McInerney Solicitors. Michael McInerney Solicitors has been providing legal services to the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA) since 2020 and was awarded a new contract for the supply of legal services to the DDDA in 2016. As a result of the enactment of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority Dissolution Act 2016, this contract was transferred to Dublin City Council. The services being provided relate specifically to legacy DDDA legal matters and an in depth knowledge of the various legal issues which is of paramount importance in the successful conclusion of these matters. McInerney Solicitors has built up an invaluable corporate memory that would be impossible to replicate in a new legal advisor or by the City Councils Law Department. In addition, the cost of appointing new advisors that would be required to read into the detail of each issue would not be cost effective. There are a number of outstanding issues and due to the legal complexity which are further complicated by the liquidation of some development companies the legal transfer of some assets to Dublin City Council remain unresolved The value of this contract is €150,000 and is for a period of 3 years.
