The school thus needs a simulator that can be used for training and practical training for sailors and ship mechanics. The simulator will be a central tool in teaching, as it provides the possibility to practice situations and tasks that sailors and ship mechanics meet in their professional life. This will help to provide students with the necessary competence and skills to meet the requirements in a demanding and important branch. In addition to the simulator, eight desk bridges (simulator places) shall be delivered in accordance with DNV class C or similar, in accordance with STCW requirements for certification of maritime simulators (DNV-ST-033, August 2023) and 1 instructor/teacher user. The simulator is an important part of the process for the school achieving the necessary certifications required to be certified in accordance with the STCW convention and DNV-ST0029. The STCW convention is an international agreement on competence requirements for Sailors. DNV-0029 is Det Norske Veritas ́s requirement for the same training. There will also be a need for a continuing support and service contract.
