This expertise will be broken into the 14 different lots below: Lot 1 Shellfish Lot 2 Finfish Lot 3 Marine Mammals Lot 4 Macro Algae Lot 5 Ornithology Lot 6 Freshwater Ecology and Environment Lot 7 Benthic Ecology Lot 8 Marine Engineering Lot 9 Navigation Lot 10 Planning Lot 11 Marine Chemistry, Bio-chemistry and microbiology Lot 12 Physical Oceanography Lot 13 Geophysics Lot 14 Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data management Assignment arising under the framework may include tasks of the nature described below, or tasks of a similar nature requiring similar skills: - Assessment of applications for MACs and/or MULs relying on desk research, field inspections where appropriate, and expert judgement. Such assessments will be carried out and recorded in accordance with procedures and templates as specified by MARA. - Production of expert reports on specific technical issues arising in the preparation of assessments. Examples include, but are not limited to: o Consideration of the impacts of an activity on a certain physical or biological feature of the marine environment arising from a proposed activity, o The assessment of the feasibility of a specific aspect of a proposed project. o Risk assessments of proposed activities with reference to engineering, navigation or environmental impact. - Guidance to MARA and /or applicants to MARA for best practice in relation to the field specified in each Lot. There is no restriction on the number of Lots for which Tenderers may apply.
