Description : The Council Recommendation on ensuring a fair transition towards climate neutrality was adopted by the Member States in June 2022, as integral part of the ‘Fit for 55’ package. The Council Recommendation provides policy guidance to Member States on how to address the employment and social aspects of the transition and also outlines the commitment of the Commission to strengthen the knowledge base for policymaking and public debate related to fair transition.
