2.1.4 General information

Additional information : Oslo University Hospital annually carries out approx. 11,000 inspections of patients with implanted pacemakers or ICD at patient attendance. In addition there are a large number of patients who also have remote monitoring. OUS and other hospitals in the region have inadequate systems for archiving data that is read by implants (pacemakers, ICD etc.) as well as new programming of the equipment. This involves large amounts of data that are currently either stored physically in the paper archive or scanned as non-searchable documents. There is a need for a complete data, control and reporting system from checks of pacemakers and ICD, and any remote monitoring thereof. Users of the system will be therapists (doctors and nurses) at the hospital who follow-up patients who have implanted a pacemaker or ICD. We would like the user of the system to be able to: Log into the system on a pc in the hospital ́s network and get access to the system. Register new patients and seek out patients. Connect the programmers to the system, so that data obtained from the device is stored in the system in the patient in question. Search for and see data from previous checks on patients. Comparing controls. Extract reports in open formats. The functionality required is that when the patient comes into control, the programmer used to read and program the patient's device can be connected to the storage system, so that all information from the programmer is stored electronically in a dedicated system. Functional needs Connection to device Compatibility with all five manufacturers of systems used in Norway. Database for storage. Data is stored structured so that it is searchable. Storing data from remote monitoring is a wish. Comparing information to historical information directly in the system, so that data retrieved from the equipment (device) should be visualised so that users can easily compare historical data with recent data? Wireless. Technical needs Secure logons. Secure storage of personal data, encrypted and with login in accordance with the guidelines in the regional health authority, HSØ. Stable operation in accordance with the health company's operations and management requirements. Integration with pacemaker programmers.
