Description : The Qualification System comprises of six contract bands, In order to be allocated to a contract band, operators must meet minimum requirements in relation to annual turnover and operation of peak vehicles. Candidates who have qualified for entry to the System may be invited to tender for contracts in six (6) regions in Ireland for the operation of public bus services (including urban, inter-urban or stage carriage bus services). Operators may apply to be admitted to the Qualification System by completing and submitting a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) that is available at the following link ( https://www.etenders.gov.ie/epps/dps/viewDPSNotices.do?resourceId=1995093). Operators may also select their preference for the geographical regions for the operation of public bus services. Forthcoming Competition The NTA wishes to advise public bus services operators of a forthcoming competition under the Qualification System. The competition is for the operation of public bus services in the towns of Ennis. The contracts require the operation of punctual and reliable public bus services at 30-minute frequency in the town. Operators will be required to provide their own depot for the duration of this contract. (The bus vehicles to operate the services may be provided by the Authority or may be required to be provided by the successful Operator). The Operator will be provided with a ticketing system and a punctuality tool to operate the services. Bus services are envisaged to commence operation during the latter part of 2025. A mobilisation period will be provided. Further details will be provided in the tender documents for each competition. Ennis Town Services: The estimated peak vehicle requirement for Ennis is six (6) vehicles. It is envisaged that Qualified Candidates in Contract Bands 2 to 6 inclusive in the Munster region will be invited to tender for this contract. It is envisaged that the Ennis tender will not be issued before 17th March 2025. Operators of public bus services interested in participating in this competition (or any future competitions), are encouraged to apply for admission to the Qualification System.
