The overall objective of this action is to contribute to increased resilience to climate change in the built environment in Bermuda and to contribute to acceleration of the energy transition in Bermuda. The action aims to ensure that new buildings and renovations are ‘future-proofed’ against foreseeable climate related severe weather events, ensuring that Bermuda’s businesses and its people are robustly situated in the face of climate change and increasing costs, both economic and environmental, incurred by the continued use of fossil fuels. Lastly, but no less importantly, a more resilient built environment will decrease the economic impact of repair and rebuilding following severe weather events. The assignment includes 4 workstreams (Structural resilience, Building energy efficiency performance, Rainwater capture, Consolidation and Public consultation) and an optional component (Communications).
This assignment requires expertise and experience in the following areas, preferably in Bermuda or similar environment: structural and civil engineering, energy efficient building and building energy performance, Quantity surveyor.
It is recommended for the team to be strongly familiar with the Bermuda building practices as well as the current Bermuda Building Code for Commercial and Residential
