The consultant is needed to serve in the capacity of Circular Economy and Partnerships Expert, with responsibilities in projects with UNEP for the preparation of source inventories and national strategies on plastic pollution, for which the services are needed for development of knowledge and training materials. The consultant is further needed in developing new work and fund-raising for several new projects building on existing work and networks established. The services are further needed for undertaking a scoping study on the possible establishment of an office to cover the South Asia / Asia-Pacific region. Swati Singh Sambyal is uniquely suited for the hire, given that her services were already procured for capacity development related work and she is currently serving in the same role under the project. The project will continue, ending in June 2025. Her experience with capacity development and training directed at government institutions at national and local level, combined with her solid background in waste management especially plastic pollution, has been a strong contributor to the success of the project. Swati also has skills and networks crucial for new project development as outlined in the Terms of Reference and for carrying out the necessary scoping of an office arrangement in India based on established partnerships and networks.
